SpectroQ
Sizing and Long term Stability
It is frequently observed that the dispersity and/or absolute size of a protein sample changes over time, which can be monitored via dynamic light scattering. Commonly designated as “stability” this effect summarizes all negative influences that affect a protein, be it oxidization, positive surface interactions, temperature and chemical degradation, proteolysis, autocatalytic activities and so on. The time frame of stability varies significantly, from minutes to years and depends on the biological function, purity of a protein but also ambient conditions and last but not least its storage buffer conditions. To identify the time frame in which the sample properties can be investigated or exploited, the sample has to be monitored via DLS repetitively usually based on small aliquots. This makes SpectroQ an ideal tool to investigate a multitude of samples in that manner, with high reliability, sample efficiency with unmatched user-friendliness.
